Articles
Scientific articles are academic texts intended to present the results of systematic research, characterized by methodological rigor and argumentative consistency.
Articles should be between 10 and 30 pages long, submitted in Word (.docx) format, and have the following structure: (1) Title in the original language of the article and in a second language (preferably English, Spanish, French, or Italian); (2) Abstract and keywords (between three and six), in the original language and in the second language adopted; (3) Introduction; (4) Development (organized into one or more sections, according to the theoretical-argumentative structure defined by the author, with titles of their choice); (5) Final considerations; (6) References.
At the time of submission, authors must provide the following information: full name, ORCID, email, current affiliated higher education institution, and a brief academic biography. The accuracy and completeness of this data are the sole responsibility of the authors, and incorrect or incomplete information may result in the rejection of the submission.
Authors are also responsible for ensuring the originality of the manuscript. All submitted texts are subject to plagiarism checking tools, and if passages are identified without proper citation, the journal reserves the right to interrupt the evaluation process. Articles must be submitted in accordance with the formatting guidelines adopted, available in the “Submissions” tab.
Opinion pieces or journalistic articles will not be accepted.
Reviews
The Ver-O-Pensar Revista de Iniciação Científica da Faculdade Católica de Belém publishes exclusively critical reviews, understood as those that present, describe, and analyze works of a scientific nature —preferably books published in the last five years.
Merely descriptive reviews are not accepted; that is, those that are limited to the exposition of the content and the enumeration of the constituent parts of the analyzed works, without due critical exercise.
Reviews should be between five and ten pages long, including references, and submitted in Word format (.docx). The text should be structured in the following items: (1) Title; (2) Bibliographic data of the reviewed work; (3) Introduction; (4) Development; (5) Final considerations; and (6) References.
At the time of submission, it is the reviewer(s)' responsibility to provide their complete information — name, email, ORCID, affiliated higher education institution, and a brief academic biography. It is also the author(s)' responsibility to ensure that the text adheres to the formatting guidelines adopted by Cathólica. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the manuscript being rejected.
Finally, it is emphasized that the reviewer(s) must ensure the originality of the submitted material. All texts undergo a similarity check, and if passages are identified that are not properly referenced, the journal reserves the right to interrupt the evaluation process.
Translation
Ver-O-Pensar Revista de Iniciação Científica da Faculdade Católica de Belém publishes translations of texts related to Philosophy, Theology, Law, Education, and related fields.
Translations must be submitted in Word format (.docx), accompanied by the necessary authorizations from the authors and/or copyright holders (such as publishers, heirs, etc.), whenever the texts are not in the public domain. Furthermore, the original manuscript must be included in the submission to allow for the evaluation of the quality and fidelity of the translation.
Therefore, the submission of translations must contain the following documents: (1) the original manuscript in the source language; (2) the translated text, with a maximum length of 30 pages, including references; (3) formal authorization for translation, except in the case of works in the public domain.
Translators are responsible for providing the following information at the time of submission: full name, ORCID, email, current affiliated higher education institution, and a brief academic biography. The accuracy and completeness of this data are the sole responsibility of the translators, and incorrect or incomplete information may result in the rejection of the submission.
